During one of our biggest blizzards in Chicago last year my friends and I, all driving Toyobarus, went out driving for fun. lol

The entire state shut down for less than 1/2 inch.

It was very fun.
The best part though, sitting at a stop light a guy in a 993 Cabriolet took his left turn with a perfect drift right in front of me. That guy is my hero. lol

That photo on the bottom was taken by my neighbor on Capital Blvd, in Raleigh, NC.
So, yes, it’s in the South.
![]() 01/22/2016 at 11:42 |

I figured that it was the NC one.

Lmfao why is that car on fire though, that just made me burst out laughing in my office.
![]() 01/22/2016 at 11:45 |

I don’t even want to know. The only answer is the South.

I had an RX-8 from 2004 - 2014, sliding around in the snow is the thing I miss most about it.

Those are the yankees that moved south, and thought their years of experience driving in the snow would help them drive on ice.

Better to shit down if you know that you don’t have the equipment to keep up with it than to have the scene shown above. It’s not like this is a surprise, it’s been in the forecast for a week.

Detroiters do the same thing.
The Crossfire was the only RWD car that didn’t need a push that day. Granted it also doesnt have 500+hp.

I’m from Raleigh. Very true. Now I’m in Boone, with two feet predicted. People up here seem to know what they’re doing. The tourists not so much.

My Land rover has no intake on it right now and is in my garage so my wife picked me up from the Nashville airport in the FoST. We only made to the Brentwood area and will have to wait until the storm passes to go home (southeast).
\engaged Oregon trail mode
\the pass is frozen you must wait until spring

The problem seems to precipitate throughout the south

All of my company’s locations in the Carolinas have closed, and the Virginia locations are closing now too.

I hate how people think southern states are just overreacting and full of idiots. While the latter part is kind of true, it’s due to lack of experience rather than lack of trying. When the entire state has less than ten plows total, it’s impossible to find snow tires in stores, and school once got cancelled when there was literally no snow on the roads at all (and under half an inch on the grass), simply because it was the first snowfall in 4 or 5 years and they decided it would be cruel to make the kids miss it... (No, really, that happened here when I was in elementary school) You can’t expect us to be able to handle it. 5" of snow with salt and winter tires is a lot easier to handle than one inch with all-seasons and no salt.
That said, it’s only an excuse to shut down everywhere. People who still choose to drive in it (Like my neighbors who went out in the Atlanta blizzard for Dr. Pepper and literally nothing else) are morons.

Whoops! Damn mobile keyboard. I’ll leave it though, it’s pretty much what’s happening!

Step 1: Open WGN Weather Center App.
Step 2: Determine that there’s a ton of snow coming.
Step 3: Clear out schedule for those hours.
Step 4: Leave home with no valid excuse other than it’s one of the few times I can actually drift my car...using only the throttle.
Step 5: Notice that heavy snowfall is the only time in which you can get away with drifting around corners in Chicago :D
